Jude Law is apparently going from Harry Potter to Marvel. Captain Marvel, that is.

Variety reports the Oscar-nominated actor is in negotiations to play the male lead opposite Brie Larson in Disney's Captain Marvel, the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck.
Law is playing Mar-Vell, the original Captain Marvel and a mentor to Larson's character. Also of note, Keanu Reeves was being considered for the role before passing.
While Larson is the lead, Captain Marvel will co-star Ben Mendelsohn as the leader of the Skrulls and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. The film takes places before the events of the first Iron Man and will, at least partially, take place in outer space.
Law was recently in Guy Ritchie's King Arthur movie and will soon be seen as a young Albus Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindewald.
Captain Marvel is scheduled for release 8 March 2019.
